Part of CCI's mandate is to promote the education and understanding of condo owners.
CCI-NS Seminar: Dealing with Condo Conflicts

Dealing with Condo Conflicts: Do's and Don'ts and Double Speak
Join us for presentations and a panel discussion with lawyers and property managers. Hear their perspectives on several topics and participate in a Q&A session. Topics include:
· Overview of dispute resolution mechanisms under the Condo Act
· Enforcing the decisions of the Residential Tenancies Board and Condo Arbitrators
· AirBnB issues
· Handling owner human-rights accommodation request
· Practical advice for dealing with difficult owners
Niall P. Burke: Niall is an associate lawyer in the law firm of Cassidy Nearing Berryman. He has been called to both the Nova Scotia and the Irish Bar and is a member of the part-time Faculty at Schulich School of Law. His practice includes representing Condominium Corporations in Condominium Arbitration and Residential Tenancies matters.
Mitchell Eliasson: Mitch is a partner at the Halifax law firm of Wickwire Holm. He provides clients with advice relating to a number of different legal areas, including real-estate transactions, corporate and commercial matters, and wills and estate planning. He has acted for numerous persons and entities including assisting with the purchase and sale of homes, acting for condominium boards, drafting estate-planning documentation, and guiding personal representatives through the probate process.
Tony Hall: Tony is the President and Senior Property Manager for Podium Properties. Tony has been in the condominium industry for over ten years. Tony personally supervises all aspects of the management of the Properties under contract at Podium Properties. The planning aspect of this project management experience has given Tony a unique view and understanding of the condominium community. Tony comes to the condominium industry after as successful career as a coach with the Canada National Canoe Team.

CM 100 is directed towards condominium owners, board members, condominium managers, or industry professionals who want to learn about condominium management. The course reviews condominium concepts in the Condominium Act, and explains the governing authority, structures, roles and responsibilities in condominium. The course will cover insurance and reserve fund studies. It introduces key management issues and styles. Finally it covers the effective conduct of meetings.
