Devon Cassidy
Devon Cassidy is a lawyer and Partner in the Halifax office of Cox & Palmer.
Her practice focuses on condominium law and real estate, as well as estates and corporation/commercial matters. She is a frequent lecturer both locally and nationally.
Active in the condominium law community, in addition to her involvement in the Nova Scotia Chapter of the Canadian Condominium Institute, she serves as the President of the National Executive Board of the Canadian Condominium Institute.
Michael Kennedy
Michael retired as an Air Force Officer in 2004 after a career of thirty-one years. He currently teaches leadership, communication, and change management through the Saint Mary's University Executive & Professional Development programme. He is the current Board President of his Condominium Corporation a post he has held for many years and is the Chair of the Education & Media Committee for CCI NS.
Tracey Wright
Tracey is a Bachelor of Commerce degree graduate from Dalhousie University and she obtained her Chartered Accounting designation in 1997. Tracey has spent her career in public accounting and is a partner in AC Belliveau Veinotte Inc. Tracey’s client base is primarily assurance based comprised of non-profit and government organizations. She has been involved with the audit of condominium corporations for the past twenty five years.
Andrew Buchanan
Andrew Buchanan has been in the property management business over 14 years, specializing in apartments, houses, affordable housing, strip malls and condominiums. He is currently the Director of Condominiums for Real Estate 360, overseeing and managing high end and complex condominiums throughout HRM. He spent 5 years working for the Province of NS – Housing Authority. He has had a diverse career in construction, accounting, banking, building inspection, general management, facilitation, project co-ordination and property management. He is particularly skilled at assisting Boards with project management, problem solving, long-term planning and sound fiscal management related to property maintenance and operations. He values the relationships he has with condominium Boards and residents and takes pride in his role in creating a thriving condominium community.
Brent Dinsmore
Brent Dinsmore was born in New Brunswick and recently returned to the Maritimes after pursuing a career as an engineering consultant in Quebec and Ontario for the last 30 years. He is a versatile generalist with a multidisciplinary background in building science engineering, project management, asset advisory services, occupational health and safety, and related fields.
Dan Campbell
Dan retired after a fifty-year career practising law in Halifax. He is now president of Summer Gardens (HCCC # 130), where he lives. He is Chair of the Advocacy Committee of CCI-Nova Scotia, Co-chair of the Governance Committee of CCI-National and a member of the Government Relations Committee of CCI-National.
Edmund Nix, BA, CAIB, CRM, RIB(Ont)
Edmund is a Commercial Insurance Broker and Vice President with BFL CANADA Risk and Insurance Services Inc. working in the industry for 32 years supporting clients through market changes, claims advocacy, risk management reviews and education. BFL CANADA supports our clients Coast to Coast.
Edmund's practice is focused on Condominium Corporations, Public Entity Risk and Specialty Construction and Contracting clients.
Edmund is a Director and sits on the Education Committee for CCI Nova Scotia, Co-Member on the National Council - CCI Canada, and member of the Risk and Finance Committee - CCI Canada.
Lorena MacDonald
Lorena MacDonald has been a long serving member of CCI Nova Scotia Chapter. As the Broker and Owner of HarbourSide Realty and Owner of Open Door Property Management, she deals with many aspects of condominiums. A condo owner herself and President of her Board, she is hands on with condo issues on a daily basis.
Layton Dorey
Layton has had a very active and varied career as an entrepreneur, innovator, consultant, and market researcher. He currently leads the North American business for Verve (experts in culture, communities, and smart digital research). He is also very active in his community serving on numerous boards of businesses and associations. His authority on research and social policy is well known and acknowledged by business and government alike. Layton is well versed in condo operations serving as a Board Director at his primary home at the Carlyle HCCC#11 and as a landlord of several other rental units in various buildings across HRM.
Robert Purcell, B. Comm., LL.B. M.O.M
Robert is the President of a mid-sized Condominium Corporation in HRM and a member of CCI NS since November of 2021. He was a member of the Nova Scotia Barristers Society since 1992. He brings to the Board twenty years of senior management experience having worked with the Nova Scotia Department of Justice as the Executive Director of the Public Safety and Security Division and as an Inspector in the RCMP as a Special Advisor to the Commanding Officer and Officer in Charge of Criminal Operations for administrative and operational policing matters.
Upon becoming a condo owner and a board member at his own condo, he immediately saw the value and wealth of information provided by CCI NS. He looks forward to contributing to the mandate of CCI NS in assisting the condominium community through “…education, programs and advocacy…”.
