CCI-NS - Dealing with Mental Health Issues

February 23, 2022

07:00 PM - 09:00 PM - Online Seminar

Staff from Nova Scotia Health will talk with us about issues regarding mental health and addictions including tools that are available that Boards and Property Managers can use in managing these issues. This is an area that is becoming more prevalent and the more knowledge and help we can obtain can help all of us deal with these situations in a caring and positive manner.

Send an email to CCI-NS for details on how to login to the online seminar.

Amanda Hudson-Frigault Is the eMental Health Community Consultant with the Mental Health and Addiction Program, Nova Scotia Health.  Amanda has worked in a variety of provincial roles over the past 15 years with Nova Scotia Health, including as a Health Promoter, Take Home Naloxone Program Coordinator, and clinician. Her passion is for supporting communities, so people can thrive, right where they live, and to change the culture and stigma around mental illness, and substance use in Nova Scotia.

We are excited to be able to offer this information session on Nova Scotia Health’s Mental Health and Addictions Program (MHAP) new online services and resources (found at MHAhelpNS.ca and clicking "Online Tools"). The goal of these services (available 24/7, free of charge, and many in French) is to promote wellness and recovery broadly in communities. Nova Scotian’s may not always connect with MHAP but often access community resources, or support where they live. We hope this information session will be an opportunity for sharing -to strengthen our connections with your organization.

The information session, which is approximately 45 minutes of conversation and with 45 minutes for questions, covers some key information that we are hoping you will find useful.
