CCI NS Launching New Online Director's Course

CCI Nova Scotia is excited to announce that we are in the final stages of preparing to launch registration for the CCI-NS Director’s Course!  Details on enrollment will follow in the next few weeks.

The Director's Onine course has been developed using a modern, university-style approach and is delivered through the Brightspace Learning Management System, managed by NeonTrain. Learners will progress through eight engaging modules, using a combination of videos, readings, and downloadable resources.

Course Objectives

By the end of the course, learners will be able to:

• Explain the structure and governance model of a condominium corporation.
• Differentiate and summarize the roles and responsibilities of a condominium board of directors.
• Develop and apply strategies to foster a thriving, respectful condominium community.
• Design and implement an effective communication strategy for owners and residents.
• Evaluate financial reports and demonstrate effective oversight of the corporation’s budget and expenditures.
• Identify and assess the insurance needs of the corporation.
• Oversee and monitor the day-to-day operations of the condominium corporation.
• Interpret and apply the findings of a reserve fund study to long-term planning.
• Analyze the board’s legal and ethical role in the buying, selling, and renting of condominium units.

Course Format

• Learners must pass a short quiz after each module to progress to the next one.
• An optional journal assignment is included, allowing learners to capture notes, reflections, and action items to support real-world application.
• Downloadable checklists and resources are provided to help board members stay organized and effective.
• The course is self-paced but must be completed by the course end date. We recommend taking time with each module to fully absorb the material and consider its application to your specific condominium community.

Key Details

• Start Date: October 1
• End Date: November 30
• Cost: $100 per learner (to cover Brightspace and administrative costs)
• Registration: Payment will be made through the NeonTrain store (details to follow in the coming weeks).
• Special Offer: The first 10 registrants will receive a 25% discount voucher for the inaugural course.
